Gary L. Stutler
Gary Lewis Stutler, 66, of Marietta, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 25, 1949 in Marietta to Velda Ruth Fox Stutler and Elbert Stutler. He was a 1967 graduate of Marietta High School and received his BA in Human Resource Management from Wheeling Jesuit College in 1991. Gary was a certified Engineer Manager, Energy Auditor, and Electronics Technician. He began working for B.F. Goodrich in 1968, served in the Air Force from 1970 to 1974, returned to work and retired as a manager from RJF on April 20, 2014. He had taught at Washington County Career Center and was a consultant. Gary's greatest joy was his love for his grandchildren and spending time with them. He was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed the OSU Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and woodworking, having made toys for his grandchildren. He had coached with Bantam League for many years and had been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Gary is survived by his children, Jeremy Stutler (Carrie) of Marietta, Kevin Stutler of Philadelphia, PA and Lori Stutler of Marietta; grandchildren, Grace, Audrey, Abigail and Cooper; brother, Ronald Stutler (Jane), many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and a special friend, Konny Cramton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rebecca Sue Brown Stutler, on October 15, 2014; they had been married on September 14, 1969. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, with Jeff Tucker officiating. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to his service on Tuesday.
