George Herman Little, 81, of Marietta, departed this life Saturday April 12, 2014 at The Marietta Center under the care of Hospice.
George was the son of Anne Taylor Goff and Richard Goff. He was born in Matoaka, West Virginia but spent most of his life in Zanesville and Marietta, Ohio. He married Rosella Little (Hawkins-Ehrenberg) on April 28, 1972.
He was preceded in death by his mother Anne, his step-father Richard and step-daughter Cathy Ahrens.
George is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Rose Little. Three children Denise Smith, Kenneth Little and James Little all of Zanesville and 5 Grandchildren.
Three step-children Robert Ehrenberg (Chris) of California, Charlotte Davis of Gallatin, TN and Mark Ehrenberg (Shiela) of Marietta, six step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren and former daughter-in-law Sherry Ehrenberg. Also surviving is his uncle Earl Taylor of Zanesville, OH and several cousins.
After Serving in the US Navy, George worked at Armco Steel in Zanesville, Ohio for 32 years until he retired. During retirement he enjoyed wintering in Florida and camping in Zanesville and in Marietta at The Landings Campground, where he loved to take his beloved dog Gracie riding on the golf cart and took great pride in helping to slow the speed of traffic. It was no surprise to the family that his passing was on the one year anniversary of his mothers passing, they shared a very special bond. In keeping with Georges wishes he will be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of his life.
