George Anthony Masselli

George Anthony Masselli, 78, of Marietta, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was born July 19, 1934 in The Bronx, NY to John and Dora Vacchione Masselli. He was a graduate of Commerce High School in Manhattan, NY, and had attended Queens College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. George had been treasurer and part owner of a major international moving company for 35 years. He loved to travel the country to attend sporting events. His generosity and kindness has touched many. George is survived by his three children, George of Las Vegas, NV, Theresa of Las Vegas and Kenneth (Pamela) of Marietta, three grandchildren, Justine, Elisa and Evan, and a brother William (Lucille) of Charlottesville, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mezzapelle Masselli. There will be a Catholic prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Christopher Foxhaven as celebrant. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. His ashes will be interred at a later date in Pinelawn Cemetery, Long Island, NY.
