George Francis Williams

June 23, 1932 — April 2, 2014

George Francis Williams, 81, of Marietta, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Marietta Center. He was born June 23, 1932 in Marietta to Francis and Anna Pryor Williams. George was a graduate of Marietta High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea, serving from 1951 to 1955. He was a member of Legion Post #64 and VFW Post #5108, both in Marietta. George had retired from B.F. Goodrich. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Williams, two sisters, Nancy Harris and Jerri Caskin, all of Marietta, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Dyar Williams on August 25, 2003. Abiding with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He will be buried beside his wife at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Churchtown.
