George Alfred Wilson, 77, of Lowell, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born March 18, 1935 in Marietta to Covert O. "Tobe" and Mabel Deist Wilson. He was a graduate of Marietta High School and received his B.S. in Animal Sciences from The Ohio State University. George had worked at Eramet and retired from The Airolite Company as maintenance supervisor in 1998, after 35 years of employment. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church and had served on the church council for several years. He was also a member of Lowell Masonic Lodge #436 and the Marietta Shrine Club. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing produce with his neighbors and friends and enjoyed hunting. He was an avid Ohio State fan. His pride and joy were his two grandsons while attending their school and sports activities. George is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louella Hiener Wilson, they were married on December 12, 1959, his daughter, Melissa Cogswell (Ben) of Lowell and grandsons, Harry "Will" Cogswell and Max Cogswell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. John's Evangelical Church, with Pastors Don Hart and Gale Lauderman officiating. Visitation will be at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour prior to his service on Thursday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Donations may be made to the L-A Fire & Rescue, P.O.
