Gerald E. Hines

Gerald E. Hines, 75, of Marietta, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born December 25, 1933 in Stafford to Heber and Marjorie McConnell Hines. He was a graduate of Stafford High School and had attended Washington Technical College. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Gerald retired from DuPont in 1993. He previously had worked at Broughton Dairy in Marietta. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Miller Hines, they were married May 15, 1954; also surviving are his daughter, Kelly Bauerbach (Robert) of Waterford; his son, David E. Hines (Janey) of Marietta; two grandsons, Andrew Bauerbach and John D. Hines and four brothers, Bernard Hines (Virginia) of Marietta, Ralph Hines (Sandra) of Marietta, M. Eugene Hines (Anne) of St. Marys, Ohio and Robert Hines (Joyce) of Stafford; sister-in-law, Shirley Brown (Larry) of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with The Rev. Linda Steelman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday anytime after 2:00 p.m., where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P.O. Box 5, Marietta, OH 45750.
