Gerald Leo Schilling

Gerald Leo "Gary" Schilling, 85, of Williamstown, WV, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Elmcroft of Marietta. He was born on May 10, 1934 in Marietta, Ohio to Leo and Anna Lang Schilling.

Gary was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Gary had worked and retired from RJF International. He was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Williamstown American Legion, Williamstown VFD, the Elks in Marietta and loved to golf.

He is survived by two daughters, Terri Schreiber (Howard) of Brecksville, Ohio and Tammy Hall (Mike) of Marietta; four grandchildren, Samantha Smith (Matt), Nicholas Schreiber, Megan Melder (Ryan) and McKenzie Smith; great grandchildren, Hudson Melder and Olivia Smith; sister, Betty Schott of Lowell, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Mae Smith Schilling, whom he married on May 25, 1957.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, with full military honors. A reception will be held at the Williamstown Legion immediately following military honors at the cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service held at 4:00 p.m.
