Geraldine J. "Tia" Pouzide

Geraldine Jeanette “Tia” Pouzide, 91, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 4, 1933 in Marietta, Ohio, to Azziz and Agnes Haddad Pouzide.

Geraldine graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1951. She worked for Department of Human Services for 47 years, retired as Assistant Director. Geraldine was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption all of her life, and the Catholic Woman’s Club.

She was survived by nieces and nephews, whom she was mother to, Francis Cooke, Gerald Cooke and Mary Weddle, among others; many great nieces and nephews; and great-great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Elizabeth Kovaleski, Josephine Medley, Marie Mugrage, Francis Pouzide and two infant brothers.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Burial will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with a Vigil Service held at 3 p.m. and the Rosary recited at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
