Gladys "Ann" Oberdier

April 3, 1940 — March 10, 2025

Gladys "Ann" Oberdier, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Gladys was born April 3, 1940, in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, to Lawrence and Jesse Hollingsworth Wilson. As a child Gladys lived in rural Iowa and Colorado. At age 13, the course of Gladys Ann's life would be changed by the tragic loss of her mother and step-father. She adapted to a new life in Claibourne, Ohio, where she lived with her loving Aunt Mavia and Uncle Alvin Lamoreaux. Gladys also loved helping her cousin Faith Ferguson with her 5 children, Carol Anne, Bobby, Harley, Joyce and Grace. Gladys Ann attended Richwood High School. She was a majorette in the marching band. She enjoyed learning to sew in Home Economics. After graduation she married and became a mother to daughters Laurie and Susie.

Ann is survived by her husband Don Oberdier, whom she married June 3, 1972. Together they built a blended family, including their 6 children; Laurie Davis (Terry), Donald William (Will) Oberdier,(Melissa), Susan "Susie" Miller, Rusty Oberdier, (Michelle), Steve Oberdier, (Cheryl), and Christina Newell, (Ralph). Ann was "Grammy" to 11 grandchildren:  Nikki, Dustin, Rachael, Jared, Tyler, Megan, Cory, Stephanie, Brady, Jacob, and Nathan. And a great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marilyn Perkins and Kristy Young.

Ann served in her church, working with the God's Gang Children's Ministry and led their bell choir. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and puzzling. She excelled at pie baking, everyone enjoyed her delicious pies. Ann also collected Middleton dolls. She was an avid deer and turkey hunter with her husband Don. Her life's work was diverse including retail manager, realtor, rodeo secretary and homemaker. Ann also helped her husband Don with their livestock.

She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband Don and family.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Matthew Davis, her great-grandson, Bennett Waterman, and her brother, Lyndon "Buck" Wilson.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service to celebrate Ann's life at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes in Barlow Ohio at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, with burial to follow at Centenary Cemetery. Visitation will take place an hour before the funeral service.
