Gladys Hilma Landaker

Gladys Hilma Landaker, 89, formerly of Stanleyville, and currently a resident at Heartland, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born December 17, 1919 in Whipple to Edwin and Alma Nora Grosklos Lauer. She had owned and operated Landaker Upholstery and had been a janitor at Stanleyville School. She had been baptized at Berg Evangelical and Reformed Church in Stanleyville. She enjoyed oil painting and upholstering. Gladys is survived by her three daughters, Alma Kehl (Neal) of Vincent, Darlene Leonhart (Michael) of Whipple and Cynthia Woods (Gilbert) of Whipple; five grandchildren, Phillip Kehl (Cappie), Michelle Leonhart Stevens, Steven Leonhart, Tamara Woods Adams (Greg) and Jeromy Woods; nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Nathan Landaker in 2007, also by three infant grandchildren, a grandson, Frank Kehl, a great grandchild, two brothers, Gilbert and Clarence Lauer and a sister, Edna McAdoo. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. with The Rev. David Bilyeu officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Entombment will be at East Lawn Mausoleum. Donations may be made to the Fearing Township VFD, 1975 Stanleyville Rd., Whipple, 45788.
