Gloria Devol Reynolds went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Gloria resided at 109 Strecker Hill with her daughter for the last 11 years. Gloria was born in New York City on April 18, 1926 to Eugene De Bona and Elizabeth Unkrich DeBona. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Devol Schneider (Jim) of Marietta, granddaughter, Tara Arsenault Brown (Hugh) of Hudson, Ohio, grandson, Ty Arsenault (Monique) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, four great gandchildren, Reese and Ryleigh Brown and Braunavan and Braylon Arsenault. Brothers and sisters include Glenn DeBona (Joan) of Long Island, NY, Delores Johnson (Ed) of Union, KY, Karen Burns (Jim) of Belpre, Kathy Wildermuth of Newark, Ohio and sister in law, Norma DeBona of Williamstown, WV. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Charles Reynolds as well as a brother, Gene DeBona. Gloria was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Junior Business League, Betsey Mills Girls Council and the Homebuilders Association. She had worked for the telephone company and Sewah Studios in Marietta for many years. The lady, designer, and businesswoman that she was, opened The Tile Shop in Marietta in the late 1960s. The business started on Greene Street. Then, Gloria turned a car dealership into a business and 2000 square foot loft at 223 Second Street, now owned by Peoples Bank. She won the award from the '76 Restoration Committee for the renovation of the building both inside and out. She retired in 1981. Donations in Gloria's honor may be made to The Betsey Mills Club, 316 Fourth St. Marietta, Ohio 45750. Her service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Her family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
