Grace Elizabeth Lang Strahler, 85, of 958 Lancaster St., Marietta, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. "Amazing Grace" was born in Waterford, Ohio on April 7, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Arnold Lang. She married Howard Strahler on May 15, 1945 and was a loving and devoted wife for 65 years. Grace was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the CWC, Pioneer Squares, Red Hat Society, and had worked at the Betsey Mills Club. Grace loved gardening, dancing, traveling, playing cards, and spending time with family, friends and grandkids. She lived life to the fullest and most recently devoted her time caring for her beloved husband. In addition to her husband, she is survived by ten children, Ron (Diana), Tim (Laurie), Kathy Lough (Pete Saliba), Jenny (Thom Coffman), Cindy Davis (Dave), Sheila Lovett (Craig), Lorinda Lang (Jeff), Tina Duff (Duane), Natalie Lowe (Randy) and Toby (Tina); 29 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Neill and Shirley Oliver, and six brothers, Vincent, Harold, Delbert, Bob, Jack and Gerald and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Jim, Joe Jr., Glenn, Walter and Bernard and sister, Alice Schilling. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell and the Rev. Virgil Reischman as con celebrants. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Churchtown.
