Harold Phillip Hollister, 73, of Lowell, Ohio, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 30, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, to Charles A. and Blanche Grace Blackwell Becker.
Harold was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School, and then served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam era. He was an Operating Engineer for IUOE Local 132, retiring in 2005 after 37 years of employment.
Harold was a member of the Lowell Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of Lowell Lodge 436 F&AM, Scottish Rite Cambridge, Ohio, Marietta Shrine Club, Alladdin Temple in Columbus, Ohio, American Legion Post 750 in Lowell, life member of D.A.V., Mt. Moriah O.E.S. Chapter 506, and member of Gold Wing Road Rider Association Chapter OH-A3.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Hollister, whom he married on December 10, 1967; three children, Jodie Cassill (John) of Marietta, Ohio, Barbara Barton of Lowell, and Brian Hollister of Fleming; five grandchildren, David and Joshua Cassill, and Holden, Church, and Aurora Barton; brother, Charles Hollister of Lexington, KY; half-sister, Donna Fisher of Massillon, Ohio, step-mother Elizabeth Becker and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Becker and Blanche Johnson; step father, Judd Hollister; son, Michael Hollister; and half-sister Renee Hollister.
Abiding with government recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 Pandemic, a private family viewing will be held at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. There will be no visitation or greeting of friends and extended family at this time. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
