Harold Bryson Mullen, 76, of Marietta, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born September 26, 1933 in Elba, Ohio to Bryson and Alta Fay Luke Mullen. He was a 1953 graduate of Marietta High School and was active in many sports. Harold attended The Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from March of 1954 until March of 1956. Harold had been employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation and John Hancock Insurance. He had also owned and operated Harold's Club in Lowell. He was the Post Officer for American Legion Post 64 and member of the board of governors, member of VFW Post 5108, and had served as an officer for the B.P.O. Elks. Harold is survived by his mother, age 101, of The Inn, at Marietta; four sons and a daughter, Mayor Michael Mullen (Claire), James Mullen (Linda), Barry Mullen (Cathy), Patrick Mullen (Carol) and Kate Martin (Dan); grandchildren, James, Lindsay, Zachary, Alexa and Will Mullen, and Leah Martin; step grandchildren, Jessica Anderson and Matt, Marc (Katie) and Mike (Mandy) Warden; step great grandsons, Drew and Owen Warden; sister, Donna Moseley (Bob) and brother, Gene Mullen (Ann) and family. He was preceded in death by his father, and step great grandson, Ryan Warden. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with The Rev. Linda Steelman officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial of his ashes will be in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
