Harry A. LaFaber, 75, of Marietta, Ohio, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 11, 1937, in Marietta, to William Zell and Lela Margaret Cline LaFaber. Harry was in the National Guard for six years. He was a farmer and was employed as a janitor for the Washington County Courthouse for 33 years. Harry was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing cards and throwing horseshoes. He is survived by two brothers, Dale (Bernadine) and Charles LaFaber, both of Marietta, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph LaFaber, and sisters-in-law, Betty and Catherine LaFaber. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Fearing Township VFD, 1975 Stanleyville Rd., Whipple, Ohio 45788.
