Harry Wayne Lane, Jr., 54, of Waterford, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1954 in Marietta to Harry Wayne and Eva Elizabeth Double Lane. He was a graduate of Warren High School, being involved in football, and track and qualified for the state in wrestling. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He had been employed at Eramet for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Harry was a member of the American Legion, Russell Chadwick, Post 389, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #3665, both in Beverly; and the United Steelworkers Union #639. He also was a member of the Peoples Community Chapel Church in Cutler. He was an avid gardener and loved raising cattle. Harry is survived by his mother of Waterford; wife, Sheri Hughes Lane; two sons, Chad Lane (fiance Jenn Sutter) of Columbus and Dusty Lane of Layman; step son, Dustin DeLancey of Waterford; step daughter, Kristen Hughes (fiance Dylan Riley) ; step granddaughter, Mariah Riley, all of Marietta; brother, Dale Lane (Debbie) of Waterford, and aunt, Grace Rensel of Renfrew, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, uncle, Bob Rensel, grandparents Herschel and Cora Ivy Myers Double and Frank and Mabel Lane. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Buddy Deem officiating.
