Helen Marie Cozzens, 86, formerly of 802 Second Street, Marietta, Ohio, died at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Harmar Place in Marietta. She was born on July 11, 1923 in Schley, Ohio in Washington County, to John Henry and Bertha Emma Best Hearn. Helen had worked as a factory worker for Skuttle Manufacturing Company from 1955 to 1978. She was a member of Faith Joy Fellowship in Hackney, Ohio, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rural Carriers and the Pioneer Ladies. She is survived by two daughters, Deanna Elizabeth Lang (Raymond) of Lowell, and Darlene Fay Robinson of Fleming; one daughter-in-law, Donna Harris of Vincent; one step son Geoffry W. Ritchie of Fleming; three step daughters, Rhonda Strahler (Paul) of Macksburg, Nancy Owens (Daniel) of Marietta and Melody Atlaway of Marietta; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren; three sisters, Cleda Fay Bond of Florida, Rosalie June Crock of Grafton, Ohio and Viola Sue Flowers of Grove City; one brother, Clyde William Hearn, Sr. of Barlow; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard Dean Cozzens, whom she married on April 17, 1965. She was also preceded in death by one son Richard Parker McAfee, one grandson, Donald Clayton Robinson; one sister, Gertrude Ila Perdew; two brothers, James A. and John E. Hearn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Gary Combs officiating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and two hours prior to services on Thursday.
