Herbert Alva Beardsley

January 25, 1929 — June 24, 2018

Herbert Alva Beardsley, 89, of Lowell, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was born January 25, 1929 to the late Charles Clarence and Nora Peters Beardsley.
He was employed by Union Carbide Metals for 31 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars #5108 and American Legion Post # 64. He also enjoyed the art of trading, through Herb's Place at Rinky Dinks.
Herbert is survived by his son, Tim Beardsley (Linda) of Lowell; a sister, Eloise "Winkie" Strahler of Bloomingburg, Ohio, a special nephew, Lloyd Beardsley; three grandchildren: Randy Beardsley, Michelle Richards, Ryan (Carrie) Beardsley, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Herbert is preceded in death by his wife Donna June Lowe Beardsley, a son, Samuel Douglas Beardsley and seven brothers and six sisters.
Services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Minister Rob Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Full Military Rites observed. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5-8pm. Memorial donations may be made to L - A Fire and Rescue, P.O.
