Herman Glen "Bill" Welch, 86, of Vincent, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at his home. He was born June 4, 1926 in Vincent to Herman and Jesse Thompson Welch. He was a 1944 graduate of Vincent High School. Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1991 from Koch Asphalt as plant manager. He enjoyed woodworking, coon hunting and farming. Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia 'Patty" Anderson Welch, a son, Phil Welch of Vincent, a daughter, Paula Welch Hall (Jeff) of Marietta, grandson, Justin Welch (Mime) of Raleigh, NC, great grandson, Layton Bennett, sister, Margaret "Peg" Wallace of Waterford, brother, W. D. "Jack" Welch (Pattie) of Marietta and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, two sisters, Twila Johnson and Gladys Eichmiller and three brothers, Clarence "Red", Delbert and Lester "Bub" Welch. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor David Hubbard officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Barlow Central Cemetery, with full military honors. Donations may be made to the Barlow VFD, P.O. Box121, Barlow, OH 45712.
