Ilene Barengo
February 2, 1933 — February 26, 2020
Ilene was a lifelong nurse, graduating from Ruth Brant School of Nursing in 1954. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with Stephens Ministries and Westminster Bells. She was very active in the Mid-Ohio Valley Emmaus Community, I Can Cope Cancer Program with her friend, Betty Cleland. Ilene had a love of quilting, which she enjoyed with many close friends.
She is survived by two sons, Randall Barengo (Nancy) and James Barengo (Susan), both of Marietta; four grandchildren, Melinda Bichard (J.J.), LeAnne Barengo, Alex Barengo (Erin), and Eric Barengo (Jenna); granddaughter in law, Brandy Barengo; great grandchildren, Emily, Dominick, Bailey and Connor; brother Kenneth Graham (Nadine); and special Nephew Dr. Johnathan Graham (Martha).
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Harry Barengo, whom she married on June 4, 1955; grandson, Thomas Barengo; and brothers, Wallace and Donald Graham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, with The Rev. David Smith officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. Private family burial will be in Mound Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home.
