Jack H. Lynch

Jack H. Lynch, 91, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. He was born on July 22, 1928 in Clarksburg, WV to Dorsey Ames and Nell Ramage Lynch.

Jack was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in 1946, Salem College 1950 and received his Master's Degree in 1954 from West Virginia University. He served his country in the United States Army, during the Korea War. Jack was a teacher at Warren Elementary School for 31 years and then retired from American Cyanamid in 1990.

He was a successful basketball coach at Warren Elementary School and had a passion for traveling, coaching and he loved the students. He was an avid Mountaineer fan and loved to play golf. Jack attended Lubeck United Methodist Church, Washington, WV and is a member of Tunnel United Methodist Church. He is a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 64, VFW Post 5108 and Marietta Lions Club.

Jack is survived by his beloved companion, Myrna Cochran; daughter, Kim Mullen (James); three grandchildren, Alicia Smith, Amanda Lynch and Matthew Robinson; four great grandchildren, twins Jackson and Jonathon Lynch, twins Kinsley and Skylar Lynch; three step-grandchildren Tim Mullen (Amy), Amy Francis (Jamie) and Ashley Mullen (John); five step-great grandchildren, Scott Thomas, Caden and Conor Francis, Matthew Peck and Casey Hart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Martha Louise Bailey Lynch, whom he married August 26, 1955; and son, Mark Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 with Rev. Damon Rhodes and Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the East Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Memorial donations may be made to Tunnel United Methodist Church, 65 Coffman Road, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
