Jack Eugene Wagner, 81, of Lowell, died Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born April 13, 1932 in Constitution, Ohio to Charles A. and Hilma Steed Wagner. He was a 1951 graduate of Marietta High School and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jack retired from AEP, Muskingum River Plant, after 33 years of employment. He had volunteered for Washington County Veterans Services, driving the van for them, taking veterans to appointments and VA hospitals. He was a life member of VFW Post #5108, and Lowell American Legion, Post #750. Jack was also a member of the USS Deuel Association and the 40 & 8. He was a member of the Lowell United Methodist Church and had served on the Lowell Octoberfest Committee. Jack is survived by his wife, Wanda J. Worstell Wagner, whom he married on November 29, 1953, also surviving are six children, Tammy Stephens (Larry) , Terry Seeber (Steve) and Tonia Omspach, all of Lowell, Jay "Eddie" Wagner (fianc, Tanya Turner) of Middleport, John Wagner (Mary) of Columbus and Trena Brooker (Dennis) of Marietta; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a sister, Judy VanDyk (Adrian) of Marietta and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son in law, Steve Omspach, three grandchildren, and a brother Chuck Wagner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Pam Lashley and the Rev. Bill Allen officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, with full military rites. The family asks you donate in his memory to a favorite charity.
