James "Jim" Edward Huck Sr., 90, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 10th, 2024. Born on March 3rd, 1934 in Lowell, Ohio, in the home he lived in, he was the son of the late Joseph Huck and Ida Catherine Huck.
Jim was a self-employed truck driver who enjoyed farming, sixteen years township trustee, playing cards, and was an active member of the Our Lady Mercy Catholic Men's Club. He enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, the Reds, and Gunsmoke. He will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and love for his community.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy, whom he married on August 26, 1961; his three sons Ed (Kathy), Rob (Sue), and Tim (Jody) Huck; his daughter Lisa Gallant (Doug); twelve grandkids, Elizabeth (Tamer), Sarah (Mark), Maggie (Jon), Kaitlin, Travis (Danyelle), Beau (Ashely),Jill (Kyle),Faith, Chris, Erica, Zach, and Drew; eight great-grandkids; sister Mildred Schwendeman; sister-in-law Linda DeBusk; and special friend Paul Lang (Muriel).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ida Catherine Huck; brothers, John, Walter, Joe, and Alfred; sisters Rita, Margaret, and Gertrude; and his favorite dog Sarge.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell, Ohio on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at 10:00 am, with the Revs. David Gaydosik and Dale Tornes. Visitation will take place at LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Rosary at 7:30 pm. The Graveside Service will follow the Mass in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Waterview Pointe and Shrivers Hospice, especially Sena and Karlee, and Amy Leister. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the L-A Fire & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 406, Lowell, Ohio 45744, in memory of Jim Edward Huck Sr.
