A. Jane Lapham Weber Stone, 90, of Marietta, OH, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. Jane was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Akron, OH to Mildred DeVol and Myron Newton Lapham and was descended from the original pioneer settlers of Marietta through Capt. Jonathan DeVol. Jane graduated from Marietta High School in 1939 and married Frank Pfaff Weber (Weber Meat Packing Co.) on Dec. 1, 1943. They resided in Williamstown, WV for 22 years where Jane owned The Yarn Shop and taught knitting and needlework. She was a charter member of the Williamstown Women's Club and Garden Club. In 1965, they moved to Lower Salem, OH (Dalzell Rd.) where Jane lived until 2009. After Frank's death in 1990, Jane married Selden Augustus Stone, a Parkersburg native, on Mar. 3, 1995.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Millie Weber Coty of Parkersburg; her son, Frank (Jo) Lapham Weber of Lower Salem; three grandchildren, Heather (Billy) Coty Smith of Williamstown, Jacob M. Weber of Marietta, and Jessica (Glen) LeBouef Blair of Houma, LA.; 4 great-grandchildren, Avery and Lauren Smith and Grace and Olivia Blair; several very special cousins and nieces; and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Frank P. Weber (1990) and Selden A. Stone (2001); one sister, Marjorie Lapham Fleming; and one brother, Jack Dean Lapham.
Cawley & Peoples is in charge of cremation arrangements. A memorial/celebration service will be held at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, Williamstown, on Sunday, October 16 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, 409 Columbia Ave., Williamstown, WV.
