Jared Michael "Hillbilly" Hoff, 22, was taken from us too soon, as a result of an accident on Friday, November 1, 2013. He was born November 5, 1990 in Marietta to Thomas W. and Charlene Pottmeyer Hoff. He was a 2009 graduate of Marietta High School and had obtained the highest level in Timber Harvesting at Hocking Technical College. Jared was employed by Ohio Valley Spray Foam. He was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Jared loved the outdoors, and enjoyed mudding in his trucks, working on his trucks, fishing, hunting, cutting trees and woodworking, but, most of all, loved hanging out with his friends and family. Jared loved life, he had a big heart and would help anyone that needed it. His family includes his parents, brother, Tommy (Jen McGoron), twin sister, Ashley (Jake Dennison), maternal grandparents, Richard and Bertha Pottmeyer, all of Marietta; aunts and uncles, Donna Sommer (Nick) of Cincinnati, Janet Steinel (Larry) of Marietta, Judy McCoy of Marietta, Rick Pottmeyer (Kim) of South Carolina, Cheryl Miller (Don) of Waterford, Gerald Pottmeyer of Parkersburg, WV and Kevin Pottmeyer (Janell) of Belpre, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Guy and Gertrude Hoff. Funeral Liturgy with Mass, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption in Marietta, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell and the Rev. Mark Moore as con celebrants. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and anytime on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Following committal services at the cemetery, the family invites you to join them in celebrating Jared's life by sharing your memories, at the Reno School.
