Jean Cummings Jones

Jean Cummings Jones, 91, of Marietta, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at her residence. She was born December 10, 1920 in San Marcial, NM to Daniel and Ruth Rhodes Cummings. She had attended the University of New Mexico. She and her husband ran a factory branch for Hobart Brothers Co., manufacturers of welding equipment. Jean is survived by a son, Daniel Jones , of Marietta, three granddaughters, Laura Gongos of Allen, TX, Jennifer Miller of Naples, FL, and Amy Jones of Charleston, SC and two great grandchildren, Amanda and Will Gongos. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Lavens and Charles Jones. Abiding with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no public service. Donations may be made to Marietta College Annual Fund.
