Jean G. Ley

Jean Genevalyn (Detlor) Ley, 97, of Marietta, passed away on April 4, 2024 surrounded by her family.  She was born to the late John G. Detlor and Dorothy (Adams) Detlor on February 27, 1927.

On February 15, 1946 she married Robert E. Ley who proceeded her in death on January 4, 1992.  Also preceding her in death are her grandson Elliot Ley, two sisters and one brother.  Jean is survived by her daughter Valerie (Ley) Schlicher Holley (Clint), son Gregory Ley (Karen) and grandchildren Joshua Schlicher (Amity), Robert Schlicher (Hannah), Emily (Schlicher) Weaner (Brad), Christopher Ley (Megan) and Nicholas Ley (Myranda), ten great-grandchildren, her sister Lois (Detlor) Whiting and nieces and nephews.

Jean was affectionately known as Nan to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and others.

Private services will be held at a later date with interment in Mound Cemetery.
