Jeanette Ruth Matthews

She attended Lowell High School and graduated in 1946. Jeanette worked as a waitress and sold Avon for more than 17 years. She was a member of the CCL for over 55 years. She was a longtime member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Marietta, Ohio.
She found the love of her life in 1945. She married Glen Leonard Matthews on April 6, 1947 and was married nearly 70 years. They moved to their beloved farm on Bear Creek in 1957 with their two children, Larry and Sherrie. Jeanette loved to read, craft and was an animal lover. She loved working on her family history and could talk for hours to anyone about it. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Their home was always decked out with her Santas, snowmen, angels, and Christmas lights. What a wonderful Christmas gift she received to fly to her eternal home with her love.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her sisters Joanne Strahler and Margaret Beardsley. She is survived by her son Larry (Connie) Matthews; her daughter Sherrie (Tim) Rossiter; 6 grandchildren: Bobby (Heather) Enochs, Adam (Hilary) Enochs, Troy (Kala) Fogle, Christal (Larry) Wallace, Seth (Miranda) Matthews, and Trent (Alicia) Fogle; 18 great-grandchildren: Sarah McCraken (Scott), Abby Enochs, Trevor and Devon Niceswanger; Alexis, Audrey, Kori and Archer Enochs; Eithyn and Kelton Fogle, Cole and Kali Shilling; Jazmine, Zane, Jayden, and Ashton Wallace; Gage Matthews; Aiden Fogle; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Owen and Kaylee McCraken; one sister Jeri (Tom) Lang, numerous nieces and nephews, and her loving friends and family of Bear Creek.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Lowell of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes. Calling hours will be held before the service beginning at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be sent to Faith United Methodist Church at 503 N. 7th St., Marietta, OH 45750.
