Jerrold F. "Jerry" Hogan, 87, of Marietta, died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at his home.
The world became a much better place on May 14, 1927 with the birth of Jerrold
Francis Hogan. He spent his life always thinking of others and trying to find ways to
ease their burdens. By always putting others first, he taught us about unconditional
love.
Those who preceded him in death, his parents, Annabelle and Joseph, his loving wife
Margery, and his granddaughter Michelle Lenahan, are waiting with open arms as he makes
his journey home.
He is survived by his children, John Hogan, Mary (Kevin) Lenahan, and Michael (Mary)
Hogan, and three grandchildren, Alison Lenahan, Alyssa Hogan and Alex Hogan.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye.
Heaven is rejoicing today.
In carrying on his selflessness, we request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to
the Strecker Cancer Center Patient Indigent Fund, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Dept, St. Vincent DePaul
at St Mary's Basilica, or an organization that is dear to your heart.
Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Friends may call on Monday, December 1, 2014, from 5 to 8 pm. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. There will be a Vigil Service on Monday at 5 p.m.
