Jerry O. Boyce, 80, of Marietta, Ohio, died Friday, June 14, 2019 at his home, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on May 25, 1939 in Marietta, to John and Hazel McBride Boyce.
Jerry was a Firefighter for the Marietta Fire Department, retiring in 1991. Before his career there, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jerry was a life member of the Elks and past member of the Eagles, Moose, Masonic Lodge #1 F&AM, Marietta Shrine and Scottish Rites, Valley of Cambridge.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roush Boyce, whom he married on August 15, 1960; daughter, Michele Boyce of Marietta; sister, Kenna Huck (Roger) of Lowell; sisters in law, Patricia McIntyre of Coolville, Ohio and Patty Ann Roush of Parkersburg, WV; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Boyce, Jr; and sister, Betty Dutton.
Family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 with a memorial service held at 3:00 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with his good friend, Mayor Joe Matthews officiating. Masonic and Military services will be held as well.
