Jill Nicole Gates

Jill Nicole Gates, 36, of Cutler, Ohio, died on Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home. She was born on June 24, 1985 in Marietta, Ohio to Patrick and Diane Berg Gates.

Jill was a 2003 graduate of Warren High School. She received her associates degree in accounting from Washington State Community College. Jill was a Master Schedule/Planner for Thermo Fisher Scientific and prior to that worked for Walker Manufacturing.

Family and friends were very important to Jill, and everything she was involved in was to be closer to them. She loved taking trips to the ocean in Orange Beach, Alabama. Jill coached softball for many years and farmed with her family all of her life, which involved things she loved: driving the tractor, bailing hay and cattle/livestock shows with her nieces and nephew. She made many wooden crafts and adored her time shed hunting with EG.

She was survived by her parents; grandmother, Edna Berg; one brother, Adam Gates (Ashley); three nieces and one nephew, whom she loved dearly, DeLaney, Danica, DeAnna and Deegan; her soulmate, EG Carney; her beloved dog, Keebler; her two cats, Bubby and Sissy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Florence & Gale Gates and Henry Berg.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24 ^th , with one hour of visitation before the services. Jill knew how much her dad would want and need his family and friends, so there will be a dinner immediately following the funeral at the Barlow Fairgrounds. Jill’s wishes were to be cremated following the services, so the burial service will be at a later date.
