Joan Elizabeth Grimm

Joan “Jo” Elizabeth Grimm, 89, of Marietta, Ohio died on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Harmar Place. She was born on November 26, 1934 in Marietta, to John D. and Freda Elizabeth Jellison Gainer.

Joan graduated from Marietta High School. She retired from Bank One in 1996, following 23 years of employment. Joan enjoyed her time at Porter’s Florist after her retirement.

Joan was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ since 1968, Dana Class, Elizabeth Green OCCL, and loved serving on various boards.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Grimm and Kitty Stout; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Stout (Courtney) and Stephani Jamison (Lee); and two great grandchildren, Aidyn and Kadence Jamison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas Grimm, whom she married on July 2, 1955; and brother, Richard Gainer.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Carla Wobshall officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be for two hours prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
