Joan Thomas, 76, of Marietta, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at her residence. She was born August 19, 1934 in Stafford to Hubert and Maude Leasure Brown. She was a graduate of Woodsfield High School. Joan had attended Souls Harbor Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking and researching family trees. Joan is survived by four daughters, Charlene Dalrymple (Herby) of Lewisville, Connie Schultheisz (Chuck) of Marietta, Terrie "Sis" Coombs (Robbie) of Cutler and Sherrie Foster (Terry) of Marietta, a son, Ed "Bub" Moore (Regina) of Beverly, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, her special friend, Kay Thomas, of Newport, two brothers, Buster Brown (Mary) and Don Brown (Susie), all of Marietta and her dog, Buttons. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Denny and Rick Brown, and a grandson, Jason Schultheisz. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
