John V. Duff

John V. Duff, 90, of Devola, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at his son's home. He was born April 28, 1923 in Sitka, Ohio to Richard Henry and Lucy M. Shook Duff. He was a graduate of Marietta High School. John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He had farmed at Harriettsville and retired from Elkem. John was a 65 year member of Masterson Lodge #429, F&AM and a lifetime member of VFW #5108. He will be missed by son, Greg, daughter in law, Candy, three granddaughters, Lynn (John) Corpman, Melissa Duff-Lamb and Amanda (Shane) Vaughn, and six great grandchildren. John is also survived by many friends and would like them to know "well, I finally made it"! Honoring his wishes, there will be no services. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family with his cremation.
