John Earl Wolford, Sr., 65, of Galena, Ohio, died Friday, May 2, 2014 in Westerville, Ohio. He was born on May 2, 1949 in Marietta, to Orland M. and Betty J. Dye Wolford. John was a graduate of Warren High School, and served during Vietnam in the U. S. Army. He had owned and operated Wolford's Trailer Ranch in Dalton, Ohio for over 20 years. John loved quarter horses and was an avid barrel racer for many years. He loved spending time with and cooking food for his family and friends. He is survived by his son, John E. Wolford, Jr. (Hilde) of Westerville, Ohio, daughter, Jane E. Trapp (Joe) of Westerville, two grandsons, Levi Trapp and Owen Wolford, granddaughter, Jordan Trapp, brother, Orland M. Wolford, Jr. (Tracie) of Florida, brother-in-law, David Zupancic of Kansas, nieces, Cammie Thomas (Bob), Marie Wallace (Adam) and Emily Wolford, all of Florida, Betsy Tipping, of Kansas, nephews, David M. Zupancic of Massachusetts and Nick Schling of Florida, five great nieces and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beth Zupancic. Funeral services will be held at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Burial will follow in Tunnel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and up until time of services on Thursday. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization. Family and friends are encouraged to wear western attire to celebrate the life of their beloved cowboy, John "Wolfie" Wolford.
