Joy Diane Harra, 43, of Watertown, Ohio, died Saturday, March 22, 2020. Born October 1, 1976 at O'Blenness Hospital, Athens, OH. She is the daughter of Rev. John W. Harra and Rose Canaday Harra, and she was blessed with twin girls who were her greatest joy. She lived and breathed for them and loved them with her whole heart.
Joy was a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1995. She was a member of the "Singing Gales" musical group. She had an amazing voice and loved to sing. Joy was a fire fighter and paramedic for over 20yrs, serving with Greenfield Fire Dept and several private ambulance services in and around the Columbus area until an accident involving her ambulance forced her to quit. Joy was employed as a medic in the ER Dept's of Grant, OSU, Children's Hospitals, the University of Cincinnati medical center and Marietta Memorial Hospital. Serving and helping was her greatest desire. Joy had a servant's heart and was loved by many. One of her greatest joys was working with the Red Cross at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana during the Hurricane Katrina crisis. Most recently she was employed as a personal care giver and at Dollar General in Watertown. She loved her children and family with great passion and wished nothing but the very best for all of them.
She is survived by her precious daughters Abby Mae and Emma Rose Chaffin, her parents and siblings, twin brother, John R. Harra (Holly), sisters Patricia Largent and Deanna (Mark) Kehl, nephews Andrew Harra-Baker, Noah Harra, John R. Harra Jr, Parker and Zackson Kehl and Ryder Largent, nieces Keely Harra and Isabella Kehl, aunts Belinda Murphy, Valerie Tuten and Carol Harra, uncles Marcus (Cheryl) Canaday, John (Jane) Canaday, and Ron (Vera) Harra and twelve first cousins, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Roy E. and Edna Canaday McInturf, Johnnie W. and Lena Harra, and a nephew Zachary E. Harra-Baker.

Abiding with government recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 Pandemic, private family services will be held through the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Watertown Cemetery.
