Joy W. Roby, 84, of Lowell, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at The Arbors. She was born November 23, 1925, in Lowell to Edward T. and Dora Chandler Way. Joy had been employed as a secretary at Fort Frye Schools for 20 years. Joy was a member of the Lowell United Methodist Church, where she played the organ. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Roby of Marietta and Erin Roby of Cincinnati, and a son, Joseph A. Roby (Johanna), of Marietta. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. "Bill" Roby on February 6, 1995. They had been married on July 2, 1948; she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley, James, and Robert Way. Funeral services will be held at the Lowell United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday for one hour prior to her services, at the church.
