Julia Hartshorn Fleming, 97, a lifelong member of the Lowell United Methodist Church, had her membership transferred to her permanent home in Heaven. Julia passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012, comforted by family and hospice nurses. She has resided with her son, Bruce Fleming, in Indiana for the last three years. Prior to that, she had lived in Lowell most of her life. Julia was born April 20, 1914 in Washington County, to Andrew and Lena Baker Hartshorn, who preceded her in death, along with three brothers, Harold, Orlin and Roland and two sisters, Mary and Harriet. She is survived by her son, Bruce Fleming (Danabeth) of New Palestine, IN, granddaughters, Kim Gidley (David) of Lebanon, OH and Meghan Morrison (Steven) of New Palestine, IN. She also has six great grandchildren. She was a 1932 graduate of Lowell High School. Julia was a longtime member of the Lowell Order of Eastern Star and the Marietta Chaper Daughters of the American Revolution. Funeral services will be held at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Pam Lashley officiating. Donations may be made to the Lowell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 332, Lowell, OH 45744. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
