Kathryn Smithberger

March 19, 1927 — March 29, 2020

Kathryn A. Smithberger of Lowell, Ohio, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29th 2020. Katy was born March 19, 1927 to Harley E. and Ruth (Decker) Armstrong.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Smithberger and daughter, Kathy Wagner; five grandchildren, Mitchell (Emily) Wagner, Ryan Smithberger, Maridith Wagner, Lyndsi Smithberger and Kellyn (Zach) Leverett; 11 great grandchildren Parker and Colin Smithberger, Ava, Alexander, Madeline, Logan and Declan Wagner, Audrey and Sophia Leverett, and Kaylor and Gavin Offenberger.

She was a friend to all she met and colored this world in her favorite color turquoise. She enjoyed playing bridge with many of her friends and in her younger years loved to travel the world. She prided herself on retiring at age 90 after serving 20 years as the Sigma Kappa house mother of Marietta College.

A private ceremony will be observed at this time and a celebration of life in honor of Katy will be held at a later date.
