Kean A. Weaver, 46, of Marietta, died at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. He was born on March 31, 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Wilbert O. and Dorothy E. Begg Weaver, Jr. Kean graduated from Marietta College in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Kean was a member of the following organizations, clubs, and associations and served on the board of many of these: Marietta Memorial Health Foundation, Marietta United Way, Ohio Oil & Gas Association, Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission, Marietta College Board of Trustees, Marietta College Athletic Founders Board, Marietta College Baseball, Marietta Boat Club, IOGA-West Virginia Oil & Gas Association, Kentucky Oil & Gas Association, Southeastern Oil & Gas Association, Republican Party, Moose Lodge, Fish & Game Club, Ducks Unlimited, Marietta Country Club, Marietta High School Athletics, and Society of Petroleum Engineers. Kean loved to fish, golf, and vacation with his children. He loved to grill for his friends and family. He was a proud graduate of Marietta College and alumnus of the Marietta College Baseball program. He loved all Pittsburgh sports ?" Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He founded Triad Resources, building it from a small oil and gas company to a major regional energy supplier. Kean treated each of his employees as a valuable member of the company. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity, and his commitment to his family and community. He is survived by two daughters, Caroline and Annie Weaver, a son, Evan Weaver, and their mother, Karen L. Weaver, all of Marietta; three sisters, Gwen Harring (Dean) of Severna Park, MD, Wendy L. Weaver (Heather) of Arnold, MD, and Melane S. Martz (Jerry) of Powell, Ohio; a brother, Glen E. Weaver (Stephanie) of Harrison City, PA; nine nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Angela Pottmeyer and her sons, Mason and Wesley Thieman, all of Marietta. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 Wooster St., Marietta, with The Rev. Doug Stockton officiating. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, 408 Front St., Marietta, anytime on Sunday and Monday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. both days.
