Kenneth Lee Beebe, 85, of Marietta, OH, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at his home. He was born August 9, 1924 in Waterford to Otheal L. and Susie Sampson Beebe. He was a 1942 graduate of Waterford High School and a 1950 graduate of Kelley Barber School in Columbus. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he had been chief surveyor in HQ Co. 1067th Engineer Construction Group in Japan. He had owned and operated Beebe's Barber Service for 17 years and had retired from Boilermakers Local 667, Charleston, WV. He had attended the Putnam Congregational Church and King of Glory Lutheran Church, in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His survivors are his wife, Eileen Olson Beebe, they were married on December 21, 1947 in Mansfield, OH; daughter, Marcia Johnston (James) of Ashley, OH; son, Gary L. Beebe (Rose) of Marietta; brother, Glen E. Beebe (Jean) of Cheshire, OH; seven grandchildren, Shelly Richard (Bryce), Jennifer Walpole (Michael), Will, Luke (Courtney), Jessica, Zachary and Vincent Beebe; three great grandchildren, Macy and Henry Richard and Rohan Walpole and five nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clyde R. Beebe and his wife, Pauline, and a son, Ronald L. Beebe in 2003. A memorial service will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Heller officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday from noon until time of services . Burial of his ashes will be in Waterford Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
