Kenneth B. Spindler, 76, of Williamstown, WV, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born March 19, 1938 in Marietta to Kenneth and Marcina Phares Spindler. Kenneth was a graduate of Marietta High School and attended Marietta College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam, having served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He had worked as laboratory analyst at both Union Carbide Plastics and Shell Chemicals. He had been an ATP corporate pilot and a certified flight instructor for Mountainair and Rambar Aviation, as well as being employed as a pilot for Pizza People in Marietta. In retirement, Ken had been a driving instructor for AAA and a volunteer mission pilot for the Civil Air Patrol. He was a member of the Celebration Center of Marietta. Ken is survived by his wife, Patricia Galbraith Spindler, his daughter, Leslie Bucina of Williamstown, step daughters, Debra Miller of Marietta and Linda Johnson of Defuniak Springs, FL, step sons, Christopher Jones of Tulsa, OK and Kirby Jones of Pryor, OK, three grandchildren, Bill, Chris and Lauren Bucina, two sisters, Mary Huling and Carolyn Corbett, both of Parkersburg, WV, and nieces and nephews, Tim Spindler, Kevin Corbett, Jill Huling, Karen Correll, and Heidi Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Todd Spindler. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Gordie Deer officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown.
