Larry "Baldy" Dean Stegner of Marietta, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on October 4, 1947, in Marietta, Ohio to Frederick and Frances Casto Stegner.
Larry served his country in the United States Marine Corps for three years during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Union Local #93. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, never missing a race.
He is survived by his loving sister, Barbara Blake, and his cherished nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Fred and James Stegner.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES at 1:00 p.m. with Willie Hood serving as the celebrant. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects an hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. A graveside service with full military honors will take place at Putnam Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Mid Ohio Valley in Larry's honor to 90 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, OH 45750.
