Linda Sue Christman passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Marietta, Ohio, at the age of 74. She was born on June 1, 1950, in Barnesville, Ohio, to Paul and Marie Beardmore Christman.
Linda was a cherished resident of Marietta, Ohio, where she made a lasting impact as a devoted teacher in Marietta City Schools for 35 years until her retirement. Her passion for education touched the lives of countless students and colleagues, leaving a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.
She was actively involved with the Cambridge High School Class of 1968 Reunion Committee, and she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her friends and neighbors. Linda's life was a testament to the power of love, education, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her siblings, Leslie Christman (Tracy Kaufman) of Marysville, Bryan Christman (JoAnn Menster Christman) of Shaker Heights, and Diana Sirb of Amherst. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Shibley (Dave Shibley), Alicia Poelzer (Joe Poelzer), Abigail Christman (Dr. Jeremy Housekeeper), Rebecca Christman, Nathaniel Christman, Colleen Sirb, Cassandra Sirb, and Kimberly Sirb. She was also the proud great-aunt to Miles Shibley, Cole Shibley, Elliott Poelzer, and Ian Poelzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services to celebrate Linda's life will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, in Marietta, Ohio, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 7:00 pm with Patricia Peoples officiating. Visitation will also take place at the funeral home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, September 13, 2024, at 9:30 am at Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge, Ohio.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Andrea Hogue, Bailey Hogue, and Wanda and Gib Miller for their support and kindness.
