Loretta Irene Shock Byer, 85, formerly of Lowell, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in Carroll, Ohio. She was born February 17, 1925 in Parkersburg, WV to Raymond C. and Inez Lang Brookover. She was a 1943 graduate of Parkersburg High School. Loretta had retired in 1983 from Fenton Art Glass. She is survived by a daughter, Holly Shock (fianc, Larry Hadding) of Grove City; two grandchildren, Teresa Hill (Jeremy) and Christopher Holdren; two great granddaughters, Hailey Finch and Taylor Hill; two step granddaughters, Carrie Larrick (Ryan) and Tiffany Hadding, a step great granddaughter, Shiauana Larrick, and Paul Byer's five children. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hollie Shock, her second husband, Paul Byer, and a close friend, Jack C. Harper. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday. Loretta will be buried in Greenlawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
