Louis Huston "Louie" Armor, Jr., 85, of Marietta, died Friday evening, June 22, 2012, at his home. Born February 3, 1927, in Marietta, he was a son of the late Louis H. Armor, Sr. and Nelle Veon Armor. Louie was a member of American Legion Post #64 and the V.F.W. Post #5108, having served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He had been stationed aboard the Navy cruiser USS Springfield. He had retired from Borg-Warner as a supervisor. He was a member of the 6th and Washington Church of Christ. Louie was a life member and Past Commodore of the Marietta Boat Club. He was a member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #1 and the Marietta Shrine, Council #78. Louie had served his community by being a member of the Marietta City Traffic Commission and had served many years on the Board of Directors at Selby General Hospital. He also had been a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. Louie enjoyed motorcycle riding and time spent helping his friends and neighbors. Surviving are two daughters, Annelle Edwards (Bill) and Michelle Stevens (Gary Matheny), all of Marietta, and six grandchildren, Chad Edwards (Lisa), Friendly, WV, Alyson Tornes (Scott), Marietta, Cason Edwards (Amy McFadden), St. Marys, WV, Tabetha Wagner (D. K. Carpenter), Sarahsville, Heath Stevens (Erin), Shade, and Caitlin Hockenberry (Chad), Marietta. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and two brothers, John Armor (Sara) and Richard Armor, Sr. (Carolyn), all of Marietta. Louie was married to Bonnie Carolyn Clark on February 19, 1947; she preceded him in death March 25, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 29, 2012, with Roger Rush officiating, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Entombment will be at East Lawn Mausoleum, with Full Military Rites observed. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday. The family would like to thank Louie's caregivers, Charlie Holiday, Maryann Moyer, Pam Brantmeier, Doris Edwards, Barbara Poling, Candy Parsons and Yolanda Smith for their excellent care.
