Lucy Justine Long, 88, of Lowell, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Harmar Place in Marietta, surrounded by her family. She was born June 5, 1923 in Washington County to Clarence E. and Emma Bauerbach Huck. She was a 1942 graduate of Lowell High School. Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club, as well as the Lowell American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #750. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening. Lucy is survived by four daughters, Evelyn Potter (Mark) of Marietta, Karen Prezzia (Dr. Charles) of Clinton, PA, Rose Mary Marsee (Scott) of St. John, IN, Janice Crockett (David) of West Chester, five sons, James of Lowell, Patrick of Vincent, Kenneth (Janice) of Lowell, Anthony "Tony" (Cee Jay) of New Oxford, PA and David of Lowell, 26 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three sisters, Catherine Arnold of Beverly, Leora Arnold of Marietta and Sophia Schoeppner (Cletus) of Zanesville, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Long, on November 1, 1995, also by a granddaughter, Amanda Long, sister, Mary Jo Cox and three brothers, Howard, Martin and Norbert Huck. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy Huffman as celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
