Marcella Fay Hinson, 86, of Lower Salem, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at her residence. She was born August 5, 1928 in Akron to Millard and Ruth Lawrence Winkler. She was a graduate of Stow High School and had been a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. She had attended the University of Akron, in their nursing program, until she met G. Lantz Hinson and later married him on June 16, 1948. Marcella was an avid reader and loved sitting on the front porch. She was a proud mother to four sons and one daughter, Greg (Susan) and Paul (Suzanne) of Akron, Matt (Andra) of Marietta, Luke (Pam) of Ashford, AL and Mindy Haas (Steve) of Lower Salem; nine grandchildren, Gregory Hinson, Nicole Hinson, Lindsey Romans, Rachael Biadas, Brett Hinson, Katie Towns, Mallory Haines, Kendall Spence and Madison Arbuckle; eleven great grandchildren, a brother, Carl Winkler of Brighton, MA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 1, 2006, a granddaughter, Shelby Hinson, and a brother, Pete Winkler. Marcella's family will greet friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Her services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015, with Pastor Seth Haines officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salem VFD, P.O.
