Marguerite Mae Beatty, 90, formerly of Marietta, died Monday, August 24, 2009, in Stokesdale, NC. She was born March 6, 1919 in McConnelsville to Frank and Mary Ritchie Hardesty. She had been an elementary school teacher for Marietta City Schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta and the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Karl of Greensboro, NC, a son, Robert Beatty (Patricia) of Prestonsburg, KY, three grandchildren and a sister, Jean Hardesty of McConnelsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mercer Beatty, on June 28, 1989. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, in the chapel at East Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Craig Butler officiating. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes assisted the family with her arrangements.
