Marie K. Mallett, 67, of Marietta, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born March 8, 1948 in Athens to Clem and Elizabeth Pouzide Kovaleski. Marie graduated from Skyvue High School in 1966. She had previously been employed at Peoples Bank in Marietta, at St. Marys Elementary School as librarian, as an educational aide at Warren Elementary and Ewing schools and was currently employed at Putnam Church Preschool. One of Marie's greatest passions in life was helping children and just one of her ways of demonstrating this love was through her support of the Ewing summer camp. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption and a sustaining member of the Marietta Welfare League. She is survived by her fianc, Mike Mason, of Marietta, son, Mark Mallett of Columbus, brother, Frank Kovaleski (Debbie) of Caldwell and a special aunt, Geraldine J. Pouzide of Marietta. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Todd, and step brother, Richard Kovaleski. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Her burial will be at St. Henry's church cemetery in Harriettsville.
